The kind of judging Jesus forbids for His disciples is unrighteous judgment. Do we understand what that is? The Scriptures explain that it is judging by appearances, without considering all the facts, without doing your own thinking, in matters you have no business, or regarding things that you yourself are guilty of. It is judging aimed at condemnation rather than amelioration. And it is judgment which displaces Jesus as the ultimate righteous judge.
