The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:31). John's first epistle was "written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:13). The Gospel of John brings readers to the point of believing so that they might have life; First John shows believers how to live confidently in Christ and as they continue to believe. If they were college courses, the Gospel of John might be labeled "Believing 100," and 1 John would be "Believing 101". This study will tap into the inspired instruction for believers found in John's epistles. The goal is to share this guidance with young believers who are striving to live "Life in the Son."
